NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep178: "Download Syndrome"

This week we are Chadless, but we will endure. Except for Jefe who is very sleepy. Tyler asks us what simple things make us irrationally angry? He doesn't seem to appreciate country music. However it does bring up an event that took place over the weekend: The Trucktard Invasion! The bane of Shoky's existence. They came. They made noise. They got arrested. 
Real talk: when is modifying your vehicle too much? And what automotive style makes you irrationally mad? "A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms" finally wrapped it's first season. We were both very pleased with the latest installment in the "Game of Thrones" universe. These show-runners KNOW what fans want to see. 
Unlike Star Trek. We mentioned "Starfleet Academy" last week, but now they have celebrated the first openly gay Klingon character. Leaving Trekkies to wonder: WHY? Beyond that the show insists on having diversity for diversity's sake. And not 35th century diversity. 21st century diversity. There are characters that are austic, including a hologram. People who need glasses and hearing aids. Despite medical technology advancing far beyond any disability. A once great television series, that carried the ideas of human greatness and idealism, now reduced to pushing the woke Hollywood agenda. No matter how bad the outcome. 
Mike finally messaged us about the movement to make Alberta it's own independent republic. Who knew the Canadians couldn't get along good enough to even keep their country together? 
Speaking of countries in turmoil: Mexico finds itself under attack from a cartel, following the killing of a El Mencho. Mexican national guard members were killed in retaliation, civilians attacked, businesses burned and much more violence carried out. It seems that the world is going through major changes as people stand up against corruption and tyranny.

This week we have sad news as we discuss the incident that led to this show permanently boycotting Copperhead Brewery. We were already on a temporary boycott due to the no dogs policy. But after this experience we have decided that we will no longer give them our business or promote them.
Chado, the Vinyl Daddy, comes in late, but just in time to answer your questions! Corrine asks which of us is the most certifiable? Who has the weirdest habits. The strangest food addictions. Who is our craziest friend and why? And finally wonders about our worst days at work ever. Leading to some hefty stories from each of us. Though Shoky's story had to remain on Patreon!
Shaun ask us if we have an internal soundtrack as we go through life? Mike  ⁨@TheComicReliefCrusader⁩  asks us to discuss Albert pushing for separation from the rest of Canada. We don't actually know anything about it. So maybe next week he can tell us more.
Shoky does get personal discussing how he doesn't truly know his parent's history. Being a whole generation behind the rest of his family, he never got to know who his parents were before he came along. "The Mandalorian and Grogu" trailer dropped, giving us all hope that this upcoming Star Wars movie will do the long running series justice as it tries to wrap up this story in a meaningful way. Within this news, the announcement that Disney plans on retconning "The Last Jedi" sets off Shoky. 
Speaking of Disney, they have sent a Cease and Desist letter to Bytedance, the creators of TikTok, and Seedance 2.0. Apparently they weren't very happy with the AI video creator stealing their characters to make fan movies. And with the technology getting better and better, Disney is probably worried for their own film making future. 
Sad news in the last week and civil rights icon Jesse Jackson passed away from a long battle with PSP and Parkinson's. He lived a long life and died peacefully. Much like actor Robert Duvall who also died a few days after Jesse. We discover how much of his career we didn't even know about.

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep176: "4 Years of Awkward"

The Winter Olympics kicked off this week, but the Super Bowl—and its halftime controversies—completely dominated the headlines. We break down the backlash, the Turning Point USA alternative halftime show, and the surprising YouTube live-stream numbers that didn’t match the mainstream narrative. Headliner Kid Rock also had people scratching their heads after opening with “Bawitaba,” then switching songs—and even his name—mid-set to symbolize his personal evolution.
We’re also celebrating four years of the podcast and looking back at all the changes: rotating cohosts, format tweaks, and the move to full video. To mark the milestone, we’re running a little experiment to see who’s actually watching—so if you want the show to grow, likes and comments matter more than you think.

Once again we have to talk Emily in Paris and K POP Demon Hunters, because they are shows that middle aged men shouldn't be interested in, but for some reason they work! 
Another female lead show is on the way. We got the first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider series on Amazon. She looks the part...mostly. But given that the show is directed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, people are extremely reticent that she won't ruin another great character like she did with James Bond and Indiana Jones. However, Lara is a female fusion of both of those characters. So maybe there is hope! 
Question though: are Lara Croft and Indiana Jones morally gray characters? They do steal things from foreign countries for fame or money.
Speaking of ruining franchises: Kathleen Kennedy is finally leaving Lucasfilm! The internet of Nerds rejoiced as though a great evil had left the galaxy. BUT, does she deserve all the hatred that has come her way the last decade or so? We look over her history in Hollywood and the movies and franchises she was a part of. 
Leading to rehashing the Star Wars sequels for the 19th time, and also pointing out plot holes in Back to the Future. Which one was your favorite movie featuring Marty and Doc Brown?
