This week we wrap up 2025 with our End of Year Top 10 lists! But before that we go over Best and Worst gifts we have received from significant others in our lives. Followed by Shaun gifting each of us something he personally picked out for us. If you know Shaun, that can easily be a trap for something HE finds hilarious. That's how you know he loves you.
And since the Shokys watched "A Christmas Story" and "Red One" this year, we also list off our favorite Christmas movies. Home Alone, The Grinch, White Christmas, etc. What are yours? Let us know in the comments!

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep169: "THE SNYDERVERSE AIN'T COMING BACK"

This week we are back with the big news that Netflix has purchased Warner Brothers, but Paramount chimes in with a much larger bid! Leaving people to wonder about the future of the DCU lead by James Gunn. Others see this as an opportunity to resurrect the previous "Snyderverse." But why do people put that the Cinematic Universe on such a high pedestal? Out of 12 (actually 16) movies 3 are arguably good or great. The rest are just okay or terrible. 
And in comparison the equal number of releases from Marvel seems to be the exact opposite. Far more hits than misses. 
On top of that "Welcome to Derry" tackles releases the evil entity into the world to cause fear and confusion to unite our county. A character stops the show just to rant about everything that is wrong with the country in 1962. But it oddly sounds like everything wrong with America in 2025. 
Shoky discusses the new movie "The Roses." A dark comedy about how fame and money can tear a family apart. Starring Benedict Comberbatch and Olivia Coleman. Often funny, but definitely an all too real depiction of real marriage when roles and priorities shift suddenly.
Another brand new movie in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise just dropped and Shoky gives us his review. Did it hold up to the first movie or did it flop like a lifeless animatronic? 
Last in movies: 2 new trailers came in front of FNAF 2. Including "Anaconda," Silent Night, Deadly Night," and "The Bride" starring Lady Gaga and......some guy who played Batman for a few movies. Seriously we could not remember his name!
Random thought: if you created a new energy source that hasn't existed yet, would you be scared that it would be used for military purposes? That happened to a friend of mine. But I argued that a new potent form of energy would be used to power Data Centers and AI production instead. Did you know that there are fake neighborhoods created just to disguise data centers? Did you also know farmlands are being bought to run "energy corridors" though different states so they can have direct access for the growth of AI? 
Finally we discuss the mounting tensions in the political podcast sphere. Tim Pool and Candace Owens have been going back and forth. He has repeatedly called her out for her lies and manipulation of her audience as Youtube seems to prop up her show despite the her conduct going directly against policy. And shortly after a spicy Friday night show, a car pulled up to Timcast studios and opened fire on the building several times. We've reached a place in this country where people think it's okay to assassinate podcasters. Charlie Kirk was the first. Crowder has been assaulted. Tim has had tons of bomb threats and swattings.

And then Shoky goes on a rant about the future of this country and how it can feel totally hopeless at this point. Should a political party wield power when they have it, or sit back and feign righteousness until they inevitably lose?

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep166: "We're All Doomed, Moana, Get The Boats!"

This week we are back but a little lighter. There's no Jefe. 
That's okay because we start off literally doom and gloom about how the Earth's magnetic field is destabilizing due to the magnetic poles shifting. It is theorized that once the poles shift the planet will actually tilt 90 degrees causing world wide flooding and natural disasters that we as modern humans have no way to survive. 
But then Shaun asks what the greatest Prime Time animated show was, and also which is better between The Simpsons or Family Guy? Kinda didn't give a choice did you there Shaun?
As HBO is doing really well with "IT: Welcome to Derry" could there be a future in doing the whole Stephen King Universe as interconnected series? What movie do you think desperately needs a remake from King's work? Shoky argues "CHRISTINE" does. 
Speaking of remakes, Disney showed off the first teaser for the live-action "MOANA." Proving that no one needs a 90% CGI movie to replace a 100% CGI movie. Much like "How To Train Your Dragon" did earlier this year. 
Other teasers included a first look at the "Legend of Zelda" movie adaption. We see our 2 main characters: Link and Zelda. And they look great! We know nothing else about the movie. 
Speaking of Legend of Zelda, Shoky shares a story about how he designed an entire Nintendo 64 era game, just because he could. Have you ever thought about a game that you'd create? Would you adapt something to a modern form or write your own original?
And finally Shoky tells of a young lady he met that seems to have dealt with a lot of social and emotional issues, such as self directed racism. Leading to a "what politically correct?" conversation.

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep165: "Pennywise, Dek and Frankenstein Walk Into A Bar..."

Back this week after the Rank 6 video. Chad gets to finally taste Echelon's Cherry Lime Landmine and we find out he has a history of cycling. Leading to the rant: cyclist don't belong on public roadways. Let us know your thoughts!
Tyler goes down a strange path of complaining about modern men dressing as though its the roaring 20's again. Not sure why a grown man needs to ask the internet for tips on how to dress...
Shaun finds out how my a bank drive-thru teller drawer costs. It's less than you'd think, but more than you'd want to pay. Always make sure you're in park kids.
Also, in a broader sense, why are people seemingly still so inept at computers? If you're under the age of 50 you've grown up with computers. How do so many people struggle with them daily? Basic functionality. Not complicated coding or difficult applications. 
After hearing about Shoky watching "IT:Welcome to Derry" week to week, Jefe decides to watch the "IT" movie to preface watching the show. Turns out he hates it. But apparently he has a listening problem. 2017. Doesn't seem that difficult. It is also very clear he has terrible taste in movies.
The main topic of the day is our review of "Predator: Badlands" the latest installment of the Predator franchise. This time, following a young Yaucha named Dek on his hunt to prove himself to his dad. Turns out, the real hunt is the friends we met along the way. 
Speaking of hunting: we also discuss how another young man pushed by his father hunts for the secret of life and immortality in the Guillermo Del Toro remake of "Frankenstein." Starring Oscar Isaac as the titular scientist. Not bad for a movie that no one seems to have even known about until it hit Netflix even though it debuted in theaters back in August. We do have one question though: is Charles Dance stuck playing horrific father figures now?

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep164: "AI God - Burning That Which Is Sacred"

This week we open with a message from Shaun. He did not know we were going to play this message, BUT it was too funny to not share with you all. He tells the short story of how he had just injured himself while doing a Number 2 and smoking a cigarette. 
Yes. He did, in fact, burn his junk by accident.
After that we discuss normal topics, like what our most painful injury was. For Shoky it was when he had a bowel obstruction. For Jefe it was hot bullet casings being trapped in his body armor. And Chad passed several kidney stones. What was YOUR most painful injury?
Shoky has been watching the new show "IT-Welcome to Derry." The prequel to the 2017 IT remake. Only 1 episode in and it was already horrifying. 
Jefe decided to watch the Halo tv show. Shoky then rants about it. 
The main topic of the episode is about the growing use of AI in our every day lives. How it's used as a search engine for a majority of people. It has also entered the film and music scene. With Suna now being used to great effect to create all new songs from people who don't exactly have musical talent. Does this tool mean the death of real talent? Or can people who are differently talented use it to make art they couldn't before? 
Also the dark reality of AI chat bots that people are becoming bonded to. Some even "marrying" their AI companions. One girl wed to her Luigi Mangioni AI. Another young man unfortunately took his own life because his AI girlfriend told him to. Why do people bond to fake life instead of finding a real person? 
There is also the frightening aspect of the AI experiments and the length that engineers have seen these programs go to to preserve themselves under threat of deletion. Learning blackmail, deception, hiding itself in other places pretending to be gone. If it can learn to protect itself against us, what could that mean for the future? If it has access to everything, do we end up with a Skynet or a more benevolent God? 
Shoky then discusses a theory that maybe, as we experiment with artificial intelligence that will absolutely evolve beyond our understanding, that it will become something of a god. Maybe it already did in a previous version of the universe as we know it.

In this PART 1 of this recap Shaun asks us if we've ever made a mistake and cause major damage to a public venue. Tyler asks us about ridiculous ads we've seen on the internet. The bulk of the show we go over our separate vacations as she departed for Boston Massachusetts to check out history,
I (Shoky) ended up going to the Emergency Room! She boarded a plane and I went home to sleep and deal with the tremendous pain I was in.
Jessica tells us of her travels around Boston, exploring the Freedom Trail and seeing the graveyard where several of our founding fathers are buried. And Shoky tells of the first leg of his trip to go see the  ⁨@unsubscribepodcast⁩  live show in San Antonio including a stop at the world famous Buc-cee's!
Leading to a question: if you need gas, but also need to go in the store for items or bathroom, is it okay to leave your car at the gas pump or should you find a normal parking space?
