The Alarming Stats-Men are suffering and often in silence.Suicide is one of the leading causes of death for men, especially between the ages of 18–44.In the U.S., 79% of suicides are men (CDC, 2023).Men are less likely to seek therapy, share openly, or ask for support.Depression in men often shows up as anger, substance use, or burnout and goes unrecognized.
We aren’t addressing the symptoms or the root cause.
The “Man Box” Trap-Society has taught boys to become men who:Don’t cryDon’t ask for helpProvide but never needStay strong, even if it’s killing them

Men who conform to these ideals are more likely to experience depression, suicidal ideation, violence, and isolation.
Modern Masculinity vs. the Internet-The internet has become a breeding ground for harmful messages about what it means to be a man:
Hustle culture says: "Sleep when you're dead."
Red pill influencers say: "Don't trust women, dominate them."
Toxic advice says: "If you're vulnerable, you're weak."
This isn't just edgy content, it's warping how men see themselves.
The Loneliness Epidemic-Today's men report fewer close friendships than ever before.Nearly 1 in 4 men say they have no close friends at all.Most rely on romantic partners for emotional support if they have one.Many male friendships lack emotional intimacy and vulnerability.
This isolation increases the risk for depression, addiction, and self-harm.
An Identity In Crisis-As gender roles evolve, many men are left wondering:- "If I'm not the provider, what am I?"- "What's my place in a world that criticizes masculinity?"- "Am I allowed to just.....be?"This Confusion can breed resentment, withdrawal, of defensiveness. But the truth is: being male isn't the problem...patriarchy is.
What Men Actually Need-Men deserve real tools for healing, connection, and support. That Includes:- Mental health resources that understand how men express pain- Male friendships that include depth, softness, and honesty- Permission to rest, express, and show emotion without ridicule- Communities that value men for who they are, not what they produce.Healing doesn't make you less of a man. It makes you human.

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep146: "Public Display of P*rnography"

This week we talk about parental health issues. Shokys dad took and fall and Jefe's Mom might very had a heart attack. 
Last week's promo also angered my mother in law. You can't control who will find anger with the things you say and do. But it's how you deal with the anger that matters. We talk more about the Starbucks strike and how the economy seemingly is balancing. Prices are going down for some groceries and gas.
Jefe upgraded his van with an A/C system and made a face out of his back doors. Which is functional and funny. 
Chad also had an adventure being arrested this past weekend. He discusses the event.
Mike Rowe started a new show called "People You Should Know" and we give a run down on the first 3 episodes. Highly recommend giving it a watch. Luckily it's just on YouTube. 
There's an update to the Texas Renaissance Festival sale and King George situation. The King is dead. Seemingly he ended his own life right after losing the lawsuit. 
Speaking of; Canada has extended the MAID program to include children and teenagers. What kind of government would encourage people to end their lives? Also why are so many people even considering it? Have we lost hope or are people just bored and directionless?
In other Canadian news King Charles seemingly admitted that they've been on stolen land all this time and basically returned control to the native Canadians.
Also seems like corporations have given up on pushing PRIDE month. We prefer to think of it as Veterans Month. 
Shaun asks us what else compared to finding a good stick when we were kids? We also discuss how we as children would explore the world around us. Hiking through woods, playing in creeks, riding things down hills that weren't made for it. Etc.
The Distortus Rex from the upcoming Jurassic World: Rebirth has been revealed in all its mutated glory.  We can thank the movie toys for spoiling that.
In other disgusting news Bonnie Blue has announced that she plans to top her record of "sleeping" with 1000 men in 24 hours by doubling it to 2000 and making a whole public display of it. Meaning shooting an adult video in public with her literally being open to the public for random men to join in if they wish. What is happening to our world? When did it become so twisted and debaucherous?
The Superman Movie looks like it's doing rounds of reshoots and editing. Reportedly test screening dubbed it too humorous. Hopefully it's not just studio interference like Warner Brothers is known for. Onto of that the Voltron movie with Henry Cavill finished filming and we know nothing about it. The cast of the Harry Potter series on HBO has been revealed. Stirring up another controversy over race swapping character. We already had Snape being turned black, but is Hermione actually being race changed or is it just a bad picture for the young actress?
The Lilo and Stitch remake, while doing great box office numbers is getting harsh criticism for all the changes it made to the characters and the ending scene specifically. 
Finally Stranger Things returns this Holiday season. Wrapping up with 3 volumes. Can they stick the landing after such a long hiatus? Do you even remember the last season?
It's now confirmed that Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa did in fact not film a proper regeneration scene where the next doctor takes his place. Because no new Doctor actor was ever announced. Leaving things on a very confusing cliffhanger when suddenly Billie Piper's face suddenly replaced the exiting Doctor. Seemingly she is NOT playing the titular character. Whovians are now left wondering what the future holds for this 60+ year franchise after 2 abysmal seasons and lackluster ending.

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep145: "8 Mile Bruce Wayne"

This week we celebrate Memorial Day. Honoring the fallen soldiers who died serving others. And then we rant a bit about the state of war the world currently is in.
Jefe and Chad watched "Murder Robot" and said something about it. I don't know I wasn't listening.
Seemingly Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa has left the show with little to no fanfare and rumor has it there was no replacement Doctor scene filmed. 
The last of Us season 2 wraps up on a low note. Is the show really that bad or is it just one factor: Bella Ramsay that is getting all the hate? 
The big question this week is with a new Superman on the horizon we need a new Batman! What actor could measure up to the new Big Blue Boy Scout?
Also in comic book news, Ironheart fails to warm the hearts of MCU fans with her trailer that dropped. Fans didn't like it when they did it on paper, they certainly care less now that its on screen.
And we have big updates to the Angry Cops situation is Buffalo NY. More stories of teachers or administrators getting in the way of police or even first responders. More details about the abduction case and how the school ignored all their own safety protocols to keep children and teachers safe during an emergency.

We discuss how addictive behavior can jump from one vice to another. Such as alcoholic to workaholic. Using a coping mechanism disguised as new addiction.
 Tom Segura's Bad Thoughts took Netlfix by storm. We share our thoughts, good or bad on it. 
Also another series "The PITT" turns out to be a fantastic new take on Medical dramas. Taking you through a 15 hour shift one episode at a time. Highly recommend.
And finally Andor season 2 has finished on a high note. Cementing itself as the best Star Wars series to date. What did you think?
In the news we have Starbucks employees are on strike over a new old dress code. Is it fair for your employer to require a uniform or dress code or is it infringing on your rights to free expression? 
And lastly a Mexican Navy ship has crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge while on a good will tour killing 2 and injuring dozens. Why did this happen?

NOW YOU MADE IT AWKWARD Ep143: "In Search of A Spore Daddy"

This week we discuss some mother's day issues we had. Speaking of mothers The Last of US declared that Ellie would be a dad! That's not how biology works.
There is also a documentary series about the Texas Renaissance Festival owner: King George which leads into the massive lawsuit that was just settled to finalize the sale of the the TRF. The King is a very strange man indeed.
There is a couple updates to the Angry Cops situation, even new charges being filed in one of the cases since he blew the whistle.
EPIC city in Texas has been shut down by the governor due to a lot of fishy circumstances, but also why would the US government allow for a purely Muslim based sanctuary to be built here?
We also have the new full trailer for Peacemaker season 2 to watch with Jefe. Look like a lot of fun.
